Tiger Cub swimmers win pair over Vikings
TERRE HAUTE Greencastle prepared for this weekends Western Indiana Confernce swimming meet with a pair of dual victories over West Vigo on Tuesday at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
The Tiger Cubs won the girls meet 125-32 and the boys meet 120-47.
I was very happy with how well we swam in our preview of the WIC Conference Championship venue, Greencastle coach Kent Menzel said. Terre Haute has a wonderful new pool, and I am glad we got to test the waters in this meet.
Menzel thought his relay teams and seniors were dominant.
It was a night for the seniors to shine, Menzel said. Nathan Gobert (200 individual medley and 100 back) and Cecilia Pohlar (200 free and 100 fly) each recorded a pair of wins, while Cameron Lewis won the 50 free and Ruth Heithaus won the 100 breast.
We are very much looking forward to a great meet on Saturday for the WIC Championship, Menzel added.

Cadets sweep Eagles At Clayton, Cascade won a pair of high school swimming meets over South Putnam on Tuesday night.
The Cadets won the girls meet 121-59 and the boys meet 86-82.
Abby Teipen broke into the schools all-time top 10 for the 100 breaststroke, Jenna Carmichael moved up to No. 5 in diving and several other athletes set lifetime bests:
