Tuesday, January 24, 2017

The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced that Susan Decker, of St. Mary of the Woods College, will be the speaker for the February workshop of the 2017 Nonprofit Learning Series.

Decker will present in February on “Boards that Rock: Board Building for 2017.” This workshop will be held at the Crawfordsville Country Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a catered lunch and training materials. The cost to attend the workshop is $25 at the door and $15 if registered in advance.

The workshop will launch the 2017 Nonprofit Learning Series, which is geared toward community leaders who staff or volunteer with nonprofit organizations, churches and units of government, and wish to build their knowledge and skills in areas of governance, fundraising, finances, marketing and more.

“Many people do not realize how much our communities depend upon volunteer leaders,” Elaine Peck, executive director of the Putnam County Community Foundation, said. “Successful communities have strong nonprofit leaders who have the tools, information and support they need to accomplish their missions.”

Brought to Greencastle by the Putnam County Foundation and the Montgomery County Community Foundation, the Nonprofit Learning Series consists of eight workshops. The February, March, April and May workshops will be conducted in Crawfordsville at the Crawfordsville Country Club. The August, September, October and November workshops will be staged in Greencastle at the Inn at DePauw.

The cost to attend all eight workshops is $100 (registration deadline Feb. 7).
