CLAYTON — South Putnam managed just two singles against South Vermillion pitcher Megan Natalie on Monday evening, and the Wildcats recorded a 13-0 victory in the opening game of the Cascade Class 2A softball sectional.

Sophomore Helen Eaglin led off the game with a single to center field off Natalie, but was picked off first base.

The only other baserunner for the Eagles was freshman Brianna Robinson, who had a third-inning single but was wiped out on a double play grounder.

Natalie had eight strikeouts for the 19-4 Wildcats, including the last five batters of the game. She walked none.

The Wildcats will play Cascade at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the semifinal round.

South Putnam ended its season 6-15.
