Paul E. Heavin Sr.

Paul E. Heavin Sr., 87, of Coatesville, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in the Putnam County Hospital.

Born July 20, 1930 in Fillmore, he was the son of Frank M. Heavin and Grace Frances (Cope) Heavin.

He married Audrey B. Walls, and she preceded him in death.

Paul served in the Army 54th Combat Engineers from 1948 to 1952.

He had worked at Allisons Transmissions retiring in 1982 and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include Paul Heavin Jr., Coatesville; Brenda Heavin and Doug Lawson, Coatesville; Daniel Heavin and Marilyn Hendrickson, Coatesville; Melinda Heavin and son Dr. Tyler Heavin and Kathryn Stoia, Coatesville; and Dr. Anthony and Karen Nelson Heavin and sons Garrett and Brock, Greencastle.

Military gravesite services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at the Bethel Cemetery in Fillmore. There is no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fillmore Fire Department.
