Putnam Scanner for 8-9-17

County Jail

Four people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Monday.

• At 12:29 p.m. Chelsay Rachelle Dickerson, 24, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a Montgomery County warrant.

• At 11:14 a.m. Ryan Keith Basler, 32, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a Montgomery County warrant.

• At 6:41 a.m. Zackary Allen McClain, 26, Spencer, was booked in for domestic battery.

• At 12:50 a.m. Montana Duke Austin, 26, Ghent, Ky., was housed at the jail for invasion of privacy.

City Police

Two drivers will be summoned into court after Greencastle City Police officers stopped their vehicles in recent activity.

• At 10:55 p.m. Friday, Arthur Johnson, 52, Roachdale, was stopped by Officer Zach Rhine on Franklin Street near Paradise Lane.

Johnson was issued a summons to appear in court on charges of possession of a synthetic drug and possession of a controlled substance and then released from the scene.

Johnson was also cited for having a false or fictitious registration plate.

• At 8:13 p.m. Friday, Jennifer Bechert, 40, Franklin, was issued a summons to appear in court for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Bechert was stopped on North Jackson Street by Officer Brad Hiatt and released from the scene after being issued the summons.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to one dispatch.

• At 11:45 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 109 W. Hanna St. GFD reset the first-floor alarm before returning to station at 11:58 p.m.
