City park offers special events for Halloween
Looking for some “spook-tacular” fun to celebrate Halloween?
The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department has just the programs.
On Saturday, Oct. 28 at Robe-Ann Park shelter No. 1, they will be decorating and carving pumpkins from 4 to 6 p.m. Bring your own pumpkin or purchase one for $5.
After decorating, persons can enter their pumpkin into the Great Pumpkin Decorating Contest ($3 to enter). Pre-registration is required for decorating pumpkins as well as the “Great Pumpkin” Decorating Contest.
Things will get a bit spookier that evening with an “eggs-cellent” Halloween activity you won’t want to miss. The Park Department is hiding 3,000 Halloween-colored eggs throughout Robe-Ann Park and youth in grades 6-8 will have the chance to hunt the eggs with flashlights.
Some are candy-filled, some toy-filled, some with special redemption tickets for prizes.
The Hunt for the Great Pumpkin is on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Robe-Ann Park shelter No. 1.
