NPMS, Fillmore Elementary participate in recycled bottlecaps bench program

Two local schools recently received new benches thanks to student effort and a grant from the West Central Solid Waste District. Students and staff from Fillmore Elementary School and North Putnam Middle School each collected about 500 pounds of plastic bottle caps and sent them to Green Tree Plastics of Evansville to be made into benches. The Fillmore bench has been placed inside the school courtyard, while the North Putnam bench has been placed as the first feature in a planned outdoor learning area.
