Edgar Lee 'Ed' Culley

Edgar Lee “Ed” Culley, 73, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at Danville Regional Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1944 in Greencastle to the late Lloyd Culley and Margaret (Wilson) Russell.

On Aug. 13, 1966 in Shaweetown, Ill., he married JoAnn (Long) Culley. She survives.

Ed worked for the Monon Railroad, and then for TDS for 34 years until retiring. He then worked as a custodian for North Putnam High School.

He served our country proudly in the United States Army and the National Guard.

Ed enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting and spending time outdoors.

He never knew a stranger. Ed also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn, Roachdale; his children, Brian Culley, Indianapolis, Kelly (Don) McKinney, Crawfordsville, Wendy Cox and fiancé Jason, Terre Haute, and Cindy Slack, Florida; grandchildren, Tyler McKinney, Crawfordsville, Tayler McKinney, Indianapolis, Brittany Cox, Olympia, Wash., Kaelynn Cox, Indianapolis, Christin Slack, Florida, and Brian Slack, Florida, and sister June Neilson, Roachdale.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Roachdale Christian Church, 1 N. Walnut St., Roachdale, with Pastor Braden Etcheson officiating. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Dec. 8 from 3-7 p.m. at the church with Masonic Rites held at 7 p.m.
