WEDNESDAY

BOYS

Greencastle (6-4, 3-1) at North Putnam (5-8, 2-2)

Tipoff: 7:30 p.m.

The coaches: Bryce Rector is in his second year at Greencastle. Collin McCartt is in his fourth year at North Putnam.
Season recap: Greencastle has won three straight games since starting the season 3-4. North Putnam had a three-game winning streak broken Saturday night in a loss to Monrovia.
Per-game averages: Offense — GHS 51.2, NP 52.3. Defense — GHS 50.3, NP 58.1.
Opponents’ records: Greencastle 60-55, NP 65-79.
History: Greencastle won the last meeting between the teams 56-51 in last year’s county tourney. Greencastle holds a 29-16 lead over the past 30 years.
WIC impact: A North Putnam win would give the Cougars second place. A Greencastle win gives the Cubs second and forces a multi-team tie for third that would be solved by a tiebreaker.
Key players: Gross and Caleb Duncan lead the Cougars in scoring. Colin York leads the Tiger Cubs in scoring at 19.9, followed by Gavin Bollman at 11.6 and Brody Whitaker at 10.1.

South Putnam (6-7, 1-3) at Northview (2-9, 1-3)

Tipoff: 7:30 p.m.
The coaches: Greg Dean is in his fourth year at South Putnam. Michael Byrum is in his first year at Northview.
Season recap: South Putnam has lost three straight after going 2-1 in the Monrovia tourney the week before. Northview’s only wins came against North Putnam and Rockville. The Knights lost 64-50 to Plainfield Friday.
Per-game averages: Offense — SP 47.5, Northview 57.5. Defense — SP 49.8, Northview 63.3.
Opponents’ records: SP 66-79, Northview 53-50.
History: Northview won 51-37 at South Putnam last year, and had won 24 of the last 30 meetings.
WIC impact: The loser will finish in last place, while the winner will finish somewhere from third to fifth.
Key players: Allen Plunkett leads the Eagles in scoring, while Brigham Booe leads the Knights in scoring.

GIRLS

Greencastle (11-7, 4-0) at North Putnam (6-11, 1-3)

Tipoff: 6 p.m.
The coaches: Bradley Key is in his ninth year at Greencastle. Jarrod Duff is in his second year at North Putnam.
Season recap: North Putnam broke a two-game losing streak with its win over West Vigo on Friday, and is having its winningest season since 2011-12. Greencastle has now won 10 or more games during all nine of Key’s seasons at Greencastle.
Per-game averages: Offense — Greencastle 45.9, NP 29.1. Defense — Greencastle 42.2, NP 43.3.
Opponents’ records: Greencastle 171-149, NP 140-156.
History: Greencastle won 62-15 at home last year and has won 22 of the past 26 meetings between the teams.
WIC impact: Greencastle has won the West Division title. North Putnam would finish fourth with a win.
Key players: Jalyn Duff leads Greencastle in scoring at 11.3, followed by Rose White at 10.6. Hannah Sims leads North Putnam in scoring at 7.1 points per game.

South Putnam (14-4, 3-1) at Northview (13-7, 3-1)

Tipoff: 6 p.m.
The coaches: Brian Gardner is in his third year at South Putnam. Zack Keyes is in his third year at Northview.
Season recap: South Putnam has won six straight games, with its most recent win being a 93-23 decision over Eminence.
Northview has lost five of its last seven games since starting the season 11-2.
Per-game averages: Offense — SP 56.2, Northview 46.6. Defense — SP 45.2, Northview 38.3.
Opponents’ records: South Putnam 151-151, Northview 151-200.
History: Northview won 58-55 at South Putnam last year and has won the past two meetings between the teams. since both joined the Western Indiana Conference three yaers ago.
WIC impact: The winner finishes in second place in the West Division and the loser finishes third.
Key players: Lillie Stein leads South Putnam in scoring, while Jenny Lundy leads Northview in both scoring and rebounding.

THURSDAY

BOYS

Cloverdale (8-4) at North Putnam

Tipoff: 7:30 p.m.
The coaches: Patrick Rady is in his third year at Cloverdale. Collin McCartt is in his fourth year at North Putnam.
History: Cloverdale won 61-51 last year in sectional action and holds a 33-30 advantage over the Cougars over the past 30 years.
Season recap: Cloverdale broke a two-game losing streak on Friday with a 76-38 win over Owen Valley. North Putnam plays Greencastle at home tonight, and had won three straight games until losing to Monrovia on Saturday night.
Per-game season averages (through Tuesday): Offense — Cloverdale 64.2, NP 51.6. Defense — Cloverdale 60.6, NP 58.0.
Opponents’ records: Cloverdale 81-58, North Putnam 76-90.
Key players: Cloverdale senior Jalen Moore continues to lead the state in scoring at 37.1 points per game, after a 41-point performance against Owen Valley. Elliot Gross leads North Putnam in scoring for the season, but senior guard Caleb Duncan paced the Cougars with 18 points in Saturday’s game against Monrovia.

GIRLS

Cascade (7-9, 2-2) at Cloverdale (15-3, 2-2)

Tipoff: 6:30 p.m. (no JV game)
The coaches: David Carpenter is in his third year at Cascade. Matthew Langdon is in his seventh year at Cloverdale.
Season recap: Cascade has won seven of its last 10 games since starting 0-6. Cloverdale has only lost to South Putnam, Indian Creek and Owen Valley and has tied last year’s school single-season win record.
Per-game averages: Offense — Cascade 50.6, Cloverdale 58.2. Defense — Cascade 53.8, Cloverdale 37.9.
Opponents’ records: Cascade 183-108, Cloverdale 141-182.
History: Cascade won 69-57 last year and has won 19 of the last 20 meetings.
WIC impact: The winner finishes third in the East Division and the loser will finish fourth.
Key players: Tori Combs leads Cloverdale in scoring at 14.1 and in rebounding at 12.8. Olivia Bryant leads Cascade in scoring at 16.5 points per game.
