Monday, February 26, 2018

A Purdue University Fruit Tree Program will be offered to residents in Putnam, Parke, Vermillion, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Greene, Sullivan and Monroe county residents Friday, March 2 from 9 a.m.-noon, according to Dana Gadeken, Extension educator with the Purdue Extension, Vigo County.

The program will be offered at Ditzler Orchard, 8902 S. 625 West, Rosedale, IN 47874.

The cost is $5, payable on site. This event will occur outside rain or shine, please come dressed for the weather.

The Fruit Tree program is designed to address many of the issues faced by homeowners caring for these types of trees. Attendees will be taught the basics of fruit tree planting and care, disease and pest prevention, and there will be an apple tree pruning demonstration. This is an opportunity to ask targeted questions, engage experts, and familiarize yourself with how to get the most from your plantings.
