Walden told Deputy Riley Houghton she was making a sweeping turn when she met a westbound vehicle with its high-beam headlights activated.

She said that although the other vehicle eventually turned off the high beams, she still ran off the roadway and hit a utility pole guy wire. Impact caused the pole to break and fall on the rear of Walden’s vehicle.

Duke Energy was called to the scene to replace the pole and repair the lines.

Walden’s vehicle was towed.
