Mary Alice Cox, 95 of Danville, passed away July 12, 2018.

Born July 6, 1923 in Clinton Falls, she was the daughter of Charles and Verna Claire (Lewis) Miller.

She married Leland Wesley Cox on May 12, 1943 in Danville and he preceded her in death in 1979.

Mary Alice began her career in 1961 with King School Company and retired as vice president in 1995. She also taught kindergarten in her home for 10 years.

She was an active member of the Danville United Methodist Church and served in many positions throughout her lifetime.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna C. (Michael) Riggs of Danville; daughter-in-law Becky Cox; five grandchildren, Matthew, Shelly, Shawn, Ryan and Aaron; eight great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Lucy, Rylan, Kristen, Trevor, Cameron, Alex and Pheobee and a great-great-grandson, Eli.

Her parents; brothers Earl, Charles, Kenneth and Russell Miller and son Lawrence W. Cox preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18 in Danville United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Primitive Baptist Church East Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service in the church.
