Pedal Parade set Aug. 4 at Raccoon SRA

HOLLANDSBURG -- Hoosiers are invited to celebrate Smokey Bear’s birthday with a bicycle parade on Saturday, Aug. 4 at Raccoon State Recreation Area.

At 6:30 p.m., participants will listen to a bicycle safety demonstration followed by bicycle decorating. The Pedal Parade will start at 7 p.m.

Participants will meet at the Chapel Shelter near the campground. A limited amount of decorating supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring items to make their bike look unique.

The parade will wind through the campground, so campers are urged keep an eye out and cheer on the participants.

The program is free and open to all park visitors. Standard park admission fees of $7 per in-state vehicle apply.
