First Friday, Taste on tap for Sept. 7

Following successful events the last two years, the annual Taste of Putnam County will again coincide with the September edition of First Friday.

The partnership between the annual Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce event with the monthly event presented by Main Street Greencastle will take place in downtown Greencastle from 6-9 p.m.

Taste of Putnam County is an opportunity to taste the wares of more than two dozen local restaurants and vendors in one location.

Tickets are available from the Chamber for one dollar each and then used as money to buy from each vendor.

Some of the local businesses taking part in the Taste include Almost Home, 3 B Bakery, Bon Appetit, Bridges Craft Pizza & Wine Bar, Charlie’s, Completely Nuts and Candy, Eitel’s & Co. Florist, Family Support Services, Fluttering Duck, Full Quiver Bakery, Hatchet House BBQ, Koni-Ice, McDonald’s, Moore’s Bar and Grill, Myers’ Market, Putnam County Hospital, Putnam Inn Family Restaurant, Tap House 24, Wasser Brewing Company, Mill Pond Health Campus, Farm A Foodicals, Starbucks, Scoops, Blessed Hands Bakery, Hopwood Cellars Winery, Silver Lady Saloon and more.

Vendors will be set up on the north and east sides of the Putnam County Courthouse, as well as on South Indiana Street between Washington and Walnut streets.

Additionally, Big Bounce Fun House will be there for kids to enjoy and Hometown Dental and Kirsch Family Dentistry will be at the Taste with fun games for the kids to play.

Besides the food, there will also be music in three different locations.

Phillip Stevens and the Open Road will play the north courthouse stage at 7 p.m., followed by War Radio in an outdoor show beginning at 9:30.

On South Indiana Street, MacDaddys will be the 8 p.m. headliner, with ZooSoul Drum Circle kicking things off at 5 p.m., followed by Jack Gibson at 6.

Wasser Brewery will have the Colby Green Band at 8 p.m.
