Jonathon Edward 'Jon' Hornung

Jonathon Edward "Jon" Hornung, 60, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, peacefully surrounded by his family at home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1957 in Lawton, Okla., the son of James Edward and Judith Lee (Teets) Hornung.

Jon was a 40-year machinist, working at IWIS Drive Systems in Indianapolis. He was also an auctioneer for several years.

Jon was a kind, compassionate and hardworking man.

He enjoyed nature, fishing and hunting. He loved playing his guitar and attending music concerts.

He is survived by his wife, Tina (Salesman) Hornung; children James Hornung and Allouri Schneider, Titus Pluta, Kaitlyn (husband Zach) O'Neal and Adriana Pluta; brother, Jeff (wife Erin) Hornung; sister, Jeri Hornung and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Jon's life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the family receiving friends one hour prior.
