Ivy Tech Greencastle hosting second annual Ivy Boo on Oct. 12

Tuesday, October 2, 2018

Ivy Tech Community College Greencastle will host its second annual Ivy Boo, a night of fun and fright for the whole family, on Friday, Oct. 12.

Ivy Boo, a free event for all ages, will take place 5-8 p.m. at Ivy Tech Greencastle, 915 S. Zinc Mill Rd.

This year's event is themed "200 Years of Frankenstein," with support from Indiana Humanities. One State/One Story: Frankenstein is an Indiana Humanities program and has been made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the Indiana State Library and Indiana Center for the Book.

Ivy Boo will feature Halloween-themed educational sessions taught by Ivy Tech faculty members. Sessions will highlight unique perspectives across a broad range of curriculum on the subject of paranormal activity and related "spooky" subjects. Sessions will last just 10-15 minutes and are designed to offer a vignette into course offerings at Ivy Tech Community College.

The evening will also include refreshments, a trick-or-treat village for kids, family-friendly Halloween movies, a bounce house and fire truck. There will be activities for all ages.

"Ivy Boo is a fantastic community event that we truly enjoy hosting," Ivy Tech Greencastle Vice Chancellor Greg Cook said. "We had a great time last year and wanted to offer it again as a way to have some Halloween fun and showcase our beautiful campus. Credit goes to the faculty, staff and our community sponsors for making it happen."

Any donations collected during the event will support Ivy Tech Greencastle students.
