She is also survived by her dear friend Leslie Hanson (Bryan).

She was preceded in death by her father, Emmett Wayne Hunter.

Stephanie leaves behind many friends and former students who will carry her legacy forward.

Stephanie is remembered for her love of children, sunny outlook, gentle spirit and endless willingness to help others. She was a beautiful person inside and out, who without exception cared for others before herself.

She was a Pied-Piper of kids, an incredibly hard worker, an advocate for people who couldn’t fight for themselves and the best daughter, sister, friend, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, co-worker, that anyone of us could ever wished for or deserved.

Most recently, Stephanie worked at Hendricks Regional Hospital and New Pathways School. She was a graduate of DePauw University. As a lifelong learner, she held advanced degrees and several certificates.

A celebration of Stephanie’s life is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10. Visitation begins at 1:30 p.m. with the service starting at 3 p.m. at Gobin United Methodist Church in Greeencastle.

If you wish to honor Stephanie’s life with a memorial contribution, gifts can be made to A Kinetic Change, Inc. (c/o Julie Carr, 1010 Sherwood Dr., Greencastle, IN 46135). A Kinetic Change will work closely with the Greencastle Parks Department to purchase a piece of playground equipment in Stephanie’s name for generations of children to enjoy.
