Thursday, November 15, 2018

Don’t have time to bake homemade cookies this holiday season? Come to the 27th annual Holiday Cookie Sale at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Come early for the best selection of homemade cookies baked by members of Gobin.

Customers will don a plastic glove to make their own selections from trays filled with a variety of homemade cookies, choosing the kind, number and size of cookies to put in a decorated container.

Decorated containers of two sizes will be available — a small container for $5 and a large one for $11.

To get to the cookie sale, use the Simpson Street entrance with the glass doors on the south side of the church building. The sale will be conducted in the church basement. An elevator is available for those wishing to avoid the stairs.

This year’s proceeds will be sent to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) to assist with disaster relief including for hurricanes and wildfires. UMCOR is currently providing assistance to hurricane Florence and Michael victims in the eastern United States in addition to assisting those affected by wildfires in California.

UMCOR allocates 100 percent of donated money directly to relief efforts.
