Hometown Dental to merge two Greencastle locations
Greencastle Hometown Dental is beginning the process of welcoming the staff and patients from Franklin Street Dental to its 1113 Indianapolis Rd. location.
The Hometown Dental Group, owned by Dr. Dennis Knuth, purchased the former site of both Park Firebaugh’s dental practice as well as Greencastle 20/20 Dental back in 2017, renaming it Franklin Street Dental.
The latest move will bring all of its Greencastle operations under one roof.
“We are excited to welcome the Franklin Street Dental patients to our Greencastle Hometown location,” Dr. Knuth said. “This merger will enable us to best serve our patients. We will expand our hours of operation and combine our personnel resources all while continuing our commitment to exceptional care and community service.”
With more room at the Indianapolis Road location, equipment has been transferred over from the other practice and former Franklin Street patients actually began having appointments at Hometown Dental on Dec. 27.
One point of emphasis is that none of the current staff of Franklin Street Dental is going away.
“When visiting Greencastle Hometown Dental, you will recognize the team everyone knows and loves from our Franklin Street location,” Director of Business Operations Joel Everson said. “We are eager to have our entire team under one roof. We feel fortunate to have a fantastic team of local people that care deeply about their patients.”
Dr. Richel Geisse, who has practiced at Franklin Street Dental since it opened, has taken on some different duties. While she is still part of the Hometown Dental Team and will see some patients at the Greencastle location, her primary duties will now be at Crawfordsville Hometown Dental.
In Crawfordsville, Geiss is taking over for a dentist who has been in practice for 30 years, so it is a big transition. However, Everson added, “If patients want to specifically see her, they can.”
Through the changes, Knuth hopes to emphasize that local ownership of the practice has not changed.
“For 10 years our philosophy has been to treat every patient as if they were family,” Knuth said. “I am very proud to see this hometown focus continue to grow. We plan to renovate and expand our current Greencastle Hometown Dental location to accommodate this growth.”
