County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 12:29 a.m. Brice Charles Stinebaker, 27, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated-refusal and possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday

• At 2:51 p.m. Darren Eugene Huff, 44, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

• At 3:31 a.m. Ryan Page Wilson, 43, Martinsville, was lodged at the jail for resisting law enforcement and on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 1:07 a.m. Tyler Patrick Kuras, 28, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 4:15 a.m. Johnathan Edward Turner, 31, Reelsville, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 12:01 a.m. Randy Lee Reedy, 39, Terre Haute, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Police

One recent traffic citation was issued by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 4:40 a.m. Feb. 5, Chris Hutto, 41, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Zach Rhine.

Stopped on East Washington Street near Durham Street, Hutto was cited for driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated a property-damage accident on Wednesday.

• At 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Kathy S. Baumgartner, 64, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 325 West, just south of 500 North, in a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Baumgartner told Deputy Markus Witt she felt the rear of her vehicle begin to slide to the left. The vehicle continued into the ditch on the west side of the road, flipping as it entered the ditch and coming to rest on its roof, facing northwest.

Baumgartner complained of neck pain and was transported from the scene.

Witt was assisted at the scene by Deputy Scott Ducker.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to seven recent dispatches:

• At 8:08 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:12 but could not determine the cause of the alarm. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 8:19 a.m.

• At 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to 109 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:12 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 6:21 p.m.

• At 9:11 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to 402 Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:18 and determined the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 9:28 p.m.

• At 8:49 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 504 E. Seminary St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:53 and determined the alarm was due to steam from a shower. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 8:56 a.m.

• At 8:55 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:59 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 9:05 a.m.

• At 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 910 E. Washington St. for an odor investigation. Units arrived at 9:36 but were unable to find any source for the smell. GFD went back into service at 10:17 a.m.

• At 3:18 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 303 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:22 and determined the alarm was due to burnt popcorn. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 3:31 p.m.

Additionally, GFD had one disregard during this time.
