The monthly Dine with a Doc program, sponsored by Senior Education Ministries, will feature Putnam County Hospital registered dietitian Hannah Cline on Monday, March 25.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at Putnam County Hospital, 1542 Bloomington St., Greencastle.

Dine with a Doc is a free community-based program that welcomes the local senior public to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary lunch. It is a community effort of a doctor, lunch sponsor, the senior citizens, local churches and area businesses coming together for the good of all to serve the senior citizens.

Dine with a Doc is designed to allow seniors to get out of their homes, fellowship with peers and be educated (from a preventative standpoint) with the goal of improving their quality of life and providing them with the resources and information to make an informed choice about healthcare.

Cline, who was born and raised in Putnam County, graduated from South Putnam High School in 2010.

She has a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Indiana State University. Her first position after college was with WIC, a supplemental nutrition program, in Terre Haute, doing nutrition assessments and education for women, infants and children.

Since June 2015, Cline has worked as the dietitian in the clinical and community wellness capacity at Putnam County Hospital.

Pursuing a career as a dietitian was not a tough choice for her, Cline has said. She spent the better part of her childhood and adolescence struggling with weight. Her junior year of high school she wrote her own diet and exercise plan and lost 65 pounds. After that, she knew she wanted to help people achieve that same goal and better their life.

A complimentary lunch will be served, courtesy of Putnam County Hospital.

Hickory Creek at Sunset will offer a complimentary wellness clinic (blood pressure screening).

Various health care providers will be present to share information about their services and provide door prizes for attendees.
