Tippin to continue small town talks Thursday at museum

Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Putnam County Historian Larry Tippin's small-town series, "Rediscovering Putnam County: Tiny Towns and Vanished Villages," will be the topic of the evening Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Museum, 1105 N. Jackson St., Greencastle.

In the fourth installment of the series this month Tippin will be talking about Pleasant Garden/Reelsville, Montgomery Chapel/Brick Chapel, Russellville/Darter and the County That Almost Was, which is associated with Russellville.

Each month's talk will encompass places in each tier of Putnam County townships, north, central and south.

Tippin will speak about the research necessary to establish where some places once stood, what happened there and who lived, worked and traded in that location.
