FILLMORE -- No fatalities came as a result of a three-vehicle crash on State Road 240 Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. when Kaley Majko of Rockville was traveling westbound in a 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer when she attempted to pass vehicles near County Road 750 East. However, Majko did not see traffic coming eastbound and sideswiped a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Madison Alexander of Coatesville.

Majko lost control of the TrailBlazer after making contact with Alexander’s vehicle and rolled at least three times until the TrailBlazer came to rest into a field on the northern side of the road.

A motorist driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata who was traveling behind Alexander was forced off the road after being hit by debris. However, no contact was made with the TrailBlazer.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Operation Life and the Fillmore Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene.

Traffic in the area was restricted to one lane as emergency personnel cleaned up debris and investigated the accident. State Road 240 was opened back up by approximately 3:30 p.m.

According to information obtained from Deputy Scott Ducker, who was charged with working the crash, the TrailBlazer was totaled in the accident. The Cruze sustained damage to the driver’s side and the Sonata incurred windshield damage due to the debris.

Both Seniour’s Towing and Trimble Towing were called to the incident, with the latter performing recovery of the TrailBlazer. The Cruze and Sonata were deemed drivable.

Ducker said Majko sustained an arm injury from the rollover and also complained of a possible head injury. He added that she was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. Both Alexander and the driver of the Sonata were unhurt.

As of the call to him from the Banner Graphic Friday afternoon, Ducker said that total damages were undetermined.
