Following successful events the last three years, the annual Taste of Putnam County will again coincide with the September edition of First Friday.

The partnership between the annual Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce event with the monthly event presented by Main Street Greencastle will take place in downtown Greencastle from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.

Taste of Putnam County is an opportunity to sample the wares of more than two dozen local restaurants and vendors in one location.

Tickets are available at the event from the Chamber for one dollar each and then used as money to buy from each vendor.

Some of the local businesses taking part in the Taste include 3G Bowl and Bar & Grill, Almost Home, Area 30 Culinary Arts, Bon Appetit, Bridges Craft Pizza & Wine Bar, Completely Nuts and Candy, Eitel’s & Co. Florist, Family Support Services, the Fluttering Duck, Hatchet House BBQ, McDonald’s, Moore’s Bar & Grill, Myers’ Market, the Putnam County Hospital, the Putnam Inn Family Restaurant, Tap House Burgers, Wasser Brewing Company, Starbucks, Scoops, Taco Wapo, Tom’s Cookies & Stuff, Hopwood Cellars Winery and more.

Vendors will be set up on the north and east sides of the Putnam County Courthouse, as well as on South Indiana Street between Washington and Walnut streets.

Additionally, Big Bounce Fun House will be there for kids to enjoy, along with many other groups providing kid activities.

Besides the food, there will also be music in three different locations.

War Radio will play the north courthouse stage. On South Indiana Street, Southbound 69 will start playing. Wasser Brewery will have Warrior Kings. All bands will start around 7:30 p.m.

Once again, the consumer gets to vote for the best food in Putnam County. Customers will be given a voting ticket for every 10 eating tickets they purchase. They can use those tickets to vote for their favorite foods.

The last two years, Bon Appetit has been the winner of the Taste of Putnam County.
