Brenda Kay DeVylder, 60, Franklin, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1958 in Greencastle to William and Emma Jane (Jones) Sibbitt.

Brenda graduated from Greencastle High School in 1977 and married Rick DeVylder on July 1, 1977.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the Indiana Department of Transportation and was the assistant plant manager at Charming Shoppes.

Brenda enjoyed shopping and traveling, especially to visit her family in Vermont. She loved to plan gatherings, allowing her to cook, bake and spend time with her family and friends.

One of her favorite times of year was Christmas, and playing “Santa Nanny” to her grandchildren.

Brenda was preceded in death by her niece, Danielle Tomko.

Survivors include her parents William and Jane Sibbitt of Greencastle, husband Rick DeVylder of Franklin, son Josh (Summer) DeVylder of Westfield, daughter Jessica (Mike) Walters of Bargersville, brother William “Larry” (Kathy) Sibbitt of Greencastle, sister Cynthia (Ed) Tomko of Westford, Vt. and grandchildren Cooper Binion, Kaiden Binion, Jameson DeVylder, Maverick DeVylder, Deacon Walters and Greer DeVylder.

A private graveside service will be held at Fillmore Cemetery in Fillmore.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Greencastle Moose Lodge, 212 W. Franklin St., Greencastle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
