Alan Ralph Hammond

Alan Hammond, 70, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 at 10 p.m. surrounded by his family.

Alan was born in Greencastle on Dec. 9, 1948, the son of Albert and Marie (Corbit) Hammond.

Mr. Hammond worked for many years with Hanson Stone Quarry.

Alan leaves behind his wife Carolyn Hammond; a daughter, Jill Gaston and husband John; six grandchildren; a sister, Judith Stringer and husband Ray; a brother-in-law, Roger Mays; two stepsons and their children; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three children from a previous marriage, Ross Hammond, Jason Hammond and Amy Trueblood; and a sister, Nancy Mays.

Services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
