John E. Wesley

John E. Wesley, 78, went home on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019.

He was born Oct. 11, 1940 to Jack and Sis Wesley.

On June 4, 1961, he married Linda Hadley, his sweetheart for life.

Together they raised three children, Jane (Mike) Sutherlin of Greencastle, Tony “Scott” (Harolena) Wesley of Bainbridge and Christine “Chris” (Darin) Buis of Belle Union. Together they spent 58 years watching their children play sports, ride horses and rodeo.

John enjoyed playing with his eight grandchildren, Sara (Tony) Byrum, Jeremiah Sutherlin, Candace Wesley, Devan (Baylee Hunter) Buis, Kelsey (Eric Harris) Wesley, Ami (Kendal) Erickson, Aaron (Hope Scanland) Wesley and Casey (Robert Hopwood) Buis.

His greatest treasure was bouncing his great-grandchildren on his lap, Ava Noel, Kyla Skye, Owen Jack and Noah Eugene.

John was a lover of the outdoors and found great joy in golfing, trail riding, hutning and especially fishing.

A celebration of life will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at New Hop Fellowship Church of Greencastle.
