Several years after retiring, William moved back to his native Indiana to be closer to his family and friends, always staying in touch with the many friends he made during the course of his career.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth, and his former wife and mother of his two children, Carol.

Bill is survived by his wife, Deborah of Clinton; son, Christopher of Clinton; daughter, Katie of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Bonnie (David) Callahan of Reelsville, Peggy (David) McCullough of Reelsville and Janet (Harold) Rumple of Prairie Creek; a stepsister, Shirlee (Dale) Roahrig of Martinsville; sister-in-law, Julia (Philip) McFarland and brother-in-law, William Simpson of Terre Haute. Bill will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
