Cloverdale residents will have the opportunity to meet the 2020 candidates for clerk-treasurer and seats on the Cloverdale Town Council on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 7-8 p.m. at American Legion Post 281 (501 S. Main St).

The candidates for clerk-treasurer are Republican incumbent Cheryl Galloway and Independent challenger Vanessa Carr. An at-large seat on the town council is being contested between Republican incumbent Gary Bennington and Independent Samantha Hinman. The candidates for the District 2 council seat are Republican Rick Dearwester and Independent Bob Anderson.

Current Council President Larry Fidler, who represents District 1, is running unopposed in these elections.

Galloway told the Banner Graphic all the candidates except Bennington, whom she said she had contacted, had thus far indicated they could attend the event.
