Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated five recent property-damage crashes.

• At 7:56 a.m. on Tuesday, Judith L. Proctor, 66, Russellville, was northbound on U.S. 231 approaching the U.S. 36 intersection in a 2014 Ford Edge.

Deputy Brian Helmer said Proctor attempted to turn onto westbound U.S. 36, failing to yield right-of-way to a southbound 1999 Ford Ranger driven by Kathleen S. Doll, 72, Crawfordsville. Proctor said she did not see Doll’s vehicle approaching.

Doll’s truck collided with the passenger side front corner of Proctor’s vehicle.

Proctor told Helmer she was not injured. Operation Life medics checked her out and she signed a statement of release.

Doll complained of pain and stayed in her vehicle until medics arrived. She was transported to Hendricks County Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Both vehicles were towed. Helmer estimated damage at $25,000-$50,000.

• At 8:10 p.m. on Monday, Cheryl L. York, 49, Coatesville, was westbound on County Road 1000 North in a 2011 Buick Lucerne when she hit a deer.

Though the vehicle was damaged, but Scobee was able to pull into an access road to get it out of the path of traffic. The car was later towed.

Scobee told Helmer he was not injured and did not need medical attention.

Helmer estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.
