County Jail

Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Thursday

• At 6:56 a.m. Bradley R. Hudson, 33, Indianapolis, was booked in for nonsupport of a dependent child.

Wednesday

• At 3:42 p.m. Charles G. VanKempen, 26, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for auto theft.

• At 12:06 p.m. MacAllister L. Gutzweiler, 22, Brownsburg, was taken into custody for possession of cocaine.

• At 9:13 a.m. Brandi L. Clodfelter, 38, Danville, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 2:10 a.m. Erol K. Bolin Sr., 40, Terre Haute, was booked in for driving with a BAC of .15 or more.

Tuesday

• At 8:56 p.m. Craig A. Cox, 29, Rockville, was lodged at the jail for resisting law enforcement and false identity statement.

• At 5:30 p.m. Jack A. Taylor, 50, Poland, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated-refusal, driving with a suspended license and on a Marion County warrant.

• At 5:12 p.m. Tonia M. Bixler, 44, Poland, was housed at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

• At 1:10 p.m. Kallie A. Pruitt, 27, Brazil, was booked in for driving with a suspended license with a prior conviction.

• At 12:34 p.m. Ian L. Kindred, 43, Clinton, was lodged at the jail for driving with a suspended license.

City Police

One arrest and one citation were reported in recent activity of the Greencastle City Police.

• At 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Richard A. Jordan, 29, Greencastle, was arrested for theft by Officer Darrel Bunten.

Jordan was arrested at Maple and Main streets after reportedly stealing chocolate milk and a chocolate chip Rice Krispies bar from the McClure station on Bloomington Street.

Jordan, who was listed as homeless, was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One recent ticket was issued by city officers.

• At 10:16 p.m. Wednesday, Noah Weiland, 21, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Alec Pettit.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Weiland was ticketed for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Abigail G. Bell, 23, Cloverdale, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 2007 Toyota Yaris.

There was a deer lying in the road from a previous incident and Bell could not avoid hitting the animal.

Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 11:57 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Delta Upsilon for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:01 p.m. and were advised that the alarm was caused by drywall dust created during renovation. GFD went back into service at 12:17 p.m.

• At 1:27 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to Rescare Homecare for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:33 and found that a water line had broken, and that water was leaking through the ceiling. Maintenance had arrived, and GFD went back into service at 1:58 p.m.

Additionally, GFD recently performed nine medical assists and had one disregard.
