County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Friday

• At 1:05 a.m. Russell L. Rose, 23, Poland, was lodged at the jail for possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and operating per se.

Thursday

• At 5:04 p.m. James W. Mowery, 34, Quincy, was taken into custody on two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and on a Marion County warrant.

• At 1:58 p.m. Kiley J. Vanderheyden, 41, Rockville, was booked in for theft.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 8:37 p.m. on Wednesday, Jeffrey S. Neimeyer, 41, was eastbound on U.S. 40 at County Road 475 East in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a trailer.

Neimeyer came upon an icy road surface while traveling, which caused the trailer to jackknife and force the truck into the median.

There were no injuries and the truck and trailer were operable.

Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

• At 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Reavis Stadium for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:30 and determined the alarm was due to steam from a shower. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 3:35 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed one medical assist after this dispatch.
