Karen Wood

Karen Wood, 83, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Putnam County Hospital.

Karen was born in Putnam County on Aug. 23, 1936, the daughter of Harold and Virginia (Myers) Birt.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mrs. Wood was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and the Greencastle High School Alumni Association.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, William Wood; two daughters, Kasandra Burns and Monice Buis; 11 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; Robin Wood and Loren Wood; two infant daughters; and three brothers, Gordon Birt Kevin Starr and Doyne Starr.

The family will plan a memorial service for the public at a later date.
