Putnam County Hospital is thanking the PCH lab team in honor of National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 19-25.

National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (NMLPW) is an annual celebration of the medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in every aspect of health care.

The PCH lab team has a combined experience of 258 years.

In August of 2019, the PCH laboratory was inspected by COLA Inc. to maintain its accreditation as a clinical laboratory. The surveyor, an experienced laboaratorian, performed an extensive review of policies, procedures, and processes to ensure that the laboratory and staff are in compliance with the requirements stated in the Federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

All areas of the laboratory process were examined, from collecting a specimen, testing and reporting of results. In accordance with CLIA, the laboratory participates in this on-site inspection every two years, with a self inspection in the intervening year.

The PCH Laboratory staff is proud to announce that its has passed this rigorous inspection process with zero deficiencies.

“Again, thank you to the Putnam County Laboratory for all of your hard work and dedication,” a PCH represntative said.
