Bridge repair work due to begin this week on U.S. 36 in Avon

The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that work will begin this week on the U.S. 36 bridges over Abner Creek, located just over two miles west of State Road 267 in Avon.

Traffic will be restricted to one 16-foot lane in each direction on the bridges. Work is scheduled to last through May 22, weather permitting.

RAM Construction Services of Michigan Inc. was awarded the $607,799 thin deck overlay contract.

This project includes these other bridges, SR 42 over Little White Lick Creek, located just west of SR 267 and the work on the SR 42 bridge over White Lick Creek, located west of SR 267 is already under way.

This project is scheduled for completion in late September.
