Way Up There

Thursday, May 14, 2020
A worker from Atlas Building Services is busy repairing and sealing limestone near the clock on the north side of the Putnam County Courthouse Tuesday.

Based out of Wabash, Ind., Atlas was hired to perform repair work on the limestone after some falling pieces were noticed earlier this year. Water has infiltrated some portions of the stone in the 115-year-old building, causing some of the ornamental pieces to begin to separate. The Putnam County Commissioners approved hiring Atlas in early April for a job estimated to take two weeks. For the duration of the work, portions of the parking surrounding the building will be restricted depending on where crews are working at the time.

  • Maybe while they're up there they can get the clock chimes to go off on the hour instead of 4 minutes late like they've been for the last 6 months.

  • Agreed, set the time while you’re up there!
