Hope’s Way center for special needs children closing
After more than 18 years of bringing smiles and happy times to thousands of children with special needs from all of central Indiana, Rick and Elizabeth Shafer have decided, for health reasons, it is time to close the playground, unsaddle the ponies and turn off the lights of the western town.
“It is very quiet now at Hope’s Way, but if you listen closely, you can still hear the sound of the big bell calling the children to lunch and the happy laughter of children running through the little western town having the best time of their life,” Elizabeth Shafer said, adding that “the little buildings of Glory town hold tight the memories of every child who found happiness, confidence and love at Hope’s Way.”
The Shafers and Board of Directors of Hope’s Way wish to thank their many sponsors and volunteers who have helped make their unique ministry possible.
The final event for Hope’s Way will be a huge closing yard sale that will include four buildings of furniture, décor items, toys, new scrapbook items and craft items. Proceeds will help to feed and care for the remaining animals ready to find new forever homes.
The yard sale will be held at Hope’s Way, 7578 N. CR 665 East, Bainbridge, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 1-4 and June 8-11. Community support of this event is appreciated.
Social distancing will be required and face masks will be appreciated.
