DePauw names new leaders for faculty development, academic support centers

Friday, June 19, 2020

Jen Adams, professor of communication and theater, has been appointed DePauw University’s faculty development coordinator for a three-year term starting in 2020-21.

Her selection follows an open nomination process and vetting of nominees by the Faculty Development Committee, which made its recommendation to Dave Berque, vice president for academic affairs. Adams has participated in Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity leadership training and has led a SEED seminar on campus.

Lynn Ishikawa, associate professor of English and director of English for Academic Purposes, will serve a one-year role as interim director of the Writing Program and the Writing Center. She will remain as director of English for Academic Purposes, but will have a reduced teaching schedule to allow for her expanded administrative work.

Matt Meir will join DePauw for a five-year term as director of DePauw’s Speaking and Listening Program and Center and as an assistant professor of communication and theater. Meir, who has a special interest in political comedy, was hired as the result of a national search.
