Free meals available to all Putnam County students

Thursday, September 17, 2020

An effort to help them and their families after financial hardship due to COVID-19, students at all Putnam County Schools have announced that all students are now eligible for free breakfasts and lunches for the remainder of the calendar year.

Students at Cloverdale, Greencastle, North Putnam, South Putnam and Area 30 Career Center are all eligible for the program through Dec. 31 or when funds are depleted.

Sponsored by the USDA and the Indiana Department of Education, the program is available to all students, regardless of their families’ income status.

The basic school meal tray is eligible, but extras are an additional cost.

Money still in students’ accounts will remain, and outstanding purchases must still be paid.
