Bray, Wallace headline second candidate forum Thursday

The second candidate forum sponsored by the Greencastle League of Women Voters, WGRE 91.5 FM at DePauw University and the Banner Graphic is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

The forum will take place via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84435570115 and be broadcast live on WGRE 91.5 FM.

The event will feature State Senate District 37 candidates Rodric Bray (R) and Tom Wallace (D). District 37 encompasses the southern part of Putnam County and includes Greencastle south of Washington Street.

Rodric Bray

Rodric Bray was elected to serve as the state senator of District 37 in 2012. He chairs the Rules and Legislative Procedure Committee and is the president pro tempore of the Indiana Senate. He previously served on the Judiciary, Civil Law, Corrections and Criminal Law committees.

Bray earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Indiana University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. Bray’s career experience includes working as an attorney and partner with Bray, Bray and Bray Law Firm.

Tom Wallace

Tom Wallace is a retired environmental engineer from Rockwell B-1B Strategic Bomber program. He is the founder of the Martinsville Superfund Site Association, a public forum for information, community engagement and action relating to the 30-year-old contamination of groundwater and the Martinsville municipal water field.

The Wallace family has been in Morgan County for 200 years and he grew up on a family farm which he still has.

At the conclusion of the formal portion of the forum, audience members will be given time to ask questions of the candidates.
