With all the hallmarks of a 2020 event — masks for everyone, gloves for volunteers, a larger-than-normal venue and limited capacity at any one time — the Coats for Kids drive goes on all the same recently at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building, as volunteer Atticus South (right), a North Putnam Middle School sixth-grade student, helps young Claire and her mom Lisa Richardson select a warm coat at the local Coats for Kids event. Even with COVID-19 restrictions, the program still provided coats, hats and gloves to more than 250 Putnam County kids in need.
