PUTNAMVILLE -- The Putnamville Correctional Facility recently announced the promotions of six new correctional sergeants.

The promotions include Sgt./Public Information Officer Brooke Edwards, Sgt. James Blackburn, Sgt. Zachary Allbee, Sgt. Preston Stormet, Sgt. Aaron McCullough and Sgt. Taylor Hardy.

The promotions became effective Nov. 1.

“This is a strong group of sergeants,” Deputy Warden Michael Rains said about the promotions. “Their knowledge and experiences with the Department of Correction will directly benefit the staff they work with and the department as a whole.”

Each of the promoted staff participated in a competitive process, which was the result of their desire to take on additional duties and responsibilities with the Indiana Department of Correction.

Supervision and mentoring of correctional staff will be part of their new duties in their continuing careers.

“It speaks highly of anyone who seeks to grow in their career and is willing to seek additional responsibility,” Warden Dushan Zatecky said. “Each of these new sergeants possess varied skill sets that will serve them well in their new assignment as a supervisor. I look forward to seeing each of them grow in their new role and am confident of their success.”
