Monday, November 16, 2020
Recognizing a need to help those afflicted by homelessness and hunger, Mayor Bill Dory is joined by Executive Director Lea Durbin and Board President Travis Linneweber of Beyond Homeless as he declares Nov. 16-20 as Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Monday afternoon. The proclamation cites that 45 students in the Greencastle Community School Corporation were identified as homeless at the start of the 2020-21 school year, and that 12 percent of Putnam County residents live in poverty according to 2017 census data.
