The Putnam County Commissioners will meet in special session at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.

The meeting, which will take place at the Putnam County Highway Department, 1624 W. CR 225 South, Greencastle, was originally scheduled to discuss the county road plan for 2021.

However, the commissioners are set to discuss other matters as well, such as the need for a new ambulance for Putnam County EMS.

The meeting is open to the public.

  • How about fixing the gravel roads, at least chip/seal them. As for new Ambulances— they need to actually use them. If they’d transferred patients they would have extra money for new things. Tired of that service getting whatever they want and they in return do nothing. STAR does the transfers, and nursing homes.

  • Some of the gravel roads need to be taken better care of.Some of them have a good amount of traffic and definitely should not be a gravel road anymore..Its not the 90's with hardly any residents on them!!

  • Would love to have county road 25E chip and sealed instead of pathetic patches being put on only when we call for help. We've ruined multiple tires driving on this road and frequently have to drive nearly in the ditch to find the smoothest part of the road to drive on. We watched as a perfectly smooth road in Sharon Hills got new pavement as we suffered over on 25E. Perhaps the road superintendent would like me to take him for a ride down this road in his car so he can see what it's like.
