Doris May (Howard) McCormick, 82, of Plainfield, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2021.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1938 in Carlisle to the late Herbert and Laveta Page Howard.

Doris married Marlin R. McCormick on Sept. 13, 1956 in Carlisle.

She worked as a secretary/transcriptionist in the medical field most of her career. Doris was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Princeton. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them, knitting, sewing and crocheting.

Doris loved being involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s school and extracurricular activities. Doris also had a passion for traveling and made a special effort to take road trips around the country with each grandchild.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years Marlin; children Mark McCormick (Barry Harte) of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., David McCormick (Cheryl) of Antioch, Ill., Anne Seger (Larry) of Columbus, Scott McCormick (Jennipher) of Greencastle and Paul McCormick (Lori) of Evansville; brother George Howard (Margaret) of Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren Kate, Kevin, Melinda, Mirandi, Lori, Kimberly Julie and Molly; and two great-grandchildren, Kayleb and Nicolas.

Her parents and grandson Michael Hensley preceded her in death.

Services will be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Indian Prairie Cemetery, Bucktown. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service in the funeral home.
