Thomas J. Hale

Thomas J. Hale, 81, of Lafayette, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Thomas was born in Anderson on Sept. 17, 1939, the son of John and Edith (Scott) Hale.

He was a 1958 graduate of Darlington High School.

He married Alma Dell Pursell in 2004. They shared more than five wonderful years together.

Mr. Hale proudly served his county in the United States Marine Corps. Thomas worked for 40 years with Fairfield Manufacturing Co. until his retirement in 2001.

He was a former member of Rods and Relics Car Club, and was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors include four children, Tammy Hinote (Steve) of Veedersburg, Scott Hale of Florida (Andrea of Lafayette), Jeff Hale (Mandy) of Lafayette and Kim Molter of Lafayette; four stepchildren, Chris Pursell (Debbie) of Florida, Jeff Pursell (Angie) of Brazil, Tracy Pursell (Mykee) of Greenwood and Wendy Richardson (Curt) of Fillmore; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a sister, Diana Hale.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. in Fillmore Cemetery on Monday, March 22. Burial will follow.
