Public invited to open house for new community center

Friday, May 14, 2021

On Tuesday, May 18 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, the City of Greencastle and its partners will host an open house for the proposed community center.

The project partners, the Wabash Valley YMCA and the Putnam County Hospital, will be introduced and available to answer questions.

The project architect, Tom Salzer of Bona Vita Architecture, will provide an overview of the proposed facility, its features and amenities. Members of the public will have the opportunity to review plans and sketches for the project.

“Our partners have been working on the various agreements to move the project forward while the city has procured the site and invested in the access road and utilities to serve the site,” Mayor Bill Dory noted. “Once our construction manager is on board, we will be moving to construction documents, project bidding and construction later this year.”

The public is invited to attend. Attendees are asked to wear a mask.

  • I am interested to see the format of the evening, the actual engagement of citizens, and the outcome on the backside.
