The Greencastle Police Department will conduct its annual car seat clinic this Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. as a requirement for its being a permanent fitting station.

The department is partnering with Greencastle Schools this year and will be hosting the event in the student parking lot of the Greencastle High School, 910 E. Washington St., Greencastle.

Certified car seat technicians will be on hand to inspect car seats for the following issues: Whether they properly fit the child, if they are in good working condition, if they are on a recall list, if they are properly installed in the vehicle and if they have gone past their expiration date.

If a problem or defect is discovered, the technician can replace the seat.

The clinic is being held in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s annual Child Passenger Safety Week, Sept. 19-25.

Those with questions regarding the clinic may call 653-2925 and ask for Chief Tom Sutherlin, Capt. Chris Jones or Officer Angela Taylor.
