Police investigating Sunday stabbing at Walmart
Police are currently investigating a stabbing which occurred at the Walmart Supercenter in Greencastle late Sunday evening.
Greencastle Police Capt. Charles Inman and Officer Jared McDaniel were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot at about 10 p.m. It has been reported that a suspect fled the scene in a truck.
A patient was transported by ambulance to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. The Greencastle Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene with patient care.
Greencastle Police Asst. Chief Brian Hopkins told the Banner Graphic Monday morning that it is believed the stabbing was an isolated incident.
Greencastle Police Det. Matt Huffman is the investigating officer. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Cloverdale Police Department and Indiana State Police have been assisting in the investigation.
As the investigation is ongoing, Hopkins provided that no identifications were to be released as of presstime Monday.
