Gerald Ray Beck

Gerald Ray Beck, 84, of Bainbridge, passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.

Gerald was born in Putnam County on June 17, 1937, the son of Clarence and Josephine (Walters) Beck.

He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School. He attended Purdue University where he completed a short course in agriculture.

Mr. Beck proudly served in the United States Army. After leaving the Army, he worked as an ironworker for Ben Hur. Later, Gerald opened Beck’s Hardware Store in Bainbridge until his retirement.

Survivors include his daughter, Beth Pinney (Mark); a sister, Marge Terrell; a brother, Gene Beck (Alice); five grandchildren, Ashlee, Carly, Ben Maggie, Joslyn and Iris; a great-granddaughter, Addy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lana Beck; two sons, Edwin E. “Eddie” Beck and Mitchell “Mitch” Beck; and a sister, Phyllis Sutherlin.

A celebration of life will be held at Ashlee and Kole’s house at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4.
